OMEX is developing design documentation for a new line of rail and road transport refrigeration systems.

Refrigerator cars with centralised, brine and individual air-cooling systems. Trains and sections with centralised systems have ammonia refrigeration equipment in the engine compartment that supplies cold to cargo cars using calcium chloride solution.

Chiller lorries with refrigeration units automatically maintain a certain temperature and humidity. The range varies from +12°C to –20°C. The system can maintain predetermined storage parameters during transportation without human intervention for up to 12 hours, which complies with the European regulations on shipping perishable goods.
